Kris McCarthy created Motherwise’s most recent album release Shark Teeth with only the help of their friend and producer Darcy Milligan. But to perform live, McCarthy needed more people, and assembled a group of nonmale Berkelee College of Music students: Soph Reyes, Rianna Kopcho, Daisy Soper, and Kalika Reese.
Queenie, Lillian, Makyhli, Olivia, and Elana all make up the girl group Boys World. In 2019, each member was scouted on Instagram and brought from different parts of the world to Los Angeles, California. They recently released their single “Mantrum,” in January.

Josie Arthur, who goes by JOBIE onstage, is a singer/songwriter and junior at Emerson College. In their debut album Grendel, they present a melancholic journey of growing up, living, and learning.
When Samira Winter first got to Emerson College, she was a typical Boston music journalist, but longed to be the person on stage and start her own musical project. By her senior year in 2013, she created “Winter.” Since then, she has released four full-length albums with What Kind of Blue Are You? being her latest LP.
