Playlist: Campus Crush

Valentine’s Day may be the worst day of the year, especially if you don’t have someone to spend it with or have your eye on someone you can’t have. I think everyone on Emerson’s campus has had a campus crush, an admirer or someone you may sit near and can’t keep your eyes off. All of those feelings build up and it feels like there’s no other outlet to get it out and when that happens, I make playlists.

So, during the season of love, it may make the feeling worse… but it also may help you feel seen. When finding music to tune into, there are a variety of songs made by pining artists trying to explain their feelings. With the majority of the songs flooding our earbuds being about relationships; failed ones, pining and self-love, it’s constantly surrounding us. Though having these playing in your ears may increase the chances of you walking around Boston with little cartoon hearts in your eyes, it is better than denying the way you feel.

In this collection, I’ve included a selection of songs from popular artists, known and enjoyed by the pining community, but also some you may not have heard before that could unlock an idea you never realized. This playlist isn’t just for those looking for love but also for those who are in a giddy, lovestruck state and want to stay in that bubble for longer to enjoy the warm feelings. I hope you enjoy listening to my lovestruck playlist while doing the liberal arts 360, waiting to catch the eyes of your campus crush around the alley!
