Playlist: The Quintessential Boston Soundtrack, From a Boston Native

Image: Tiana Di Stasio

In October of 2023, the fall of my freshman year of college, I created a playlist titled: boston 💌 – a selection of songs that remind me of the city, specifically its chilly autumn weather. As a Boston native, there’s a specific warmth and nostalgia during the fall season, and I aim to reflect that same essence in each song in the playlist. It functions as a time capsule for the past three years of my life, making it just that much more special. I consider this one of my more prestigious playlists, as I’m quite picky about which songs make the cut.

Now that I’m living outside of Boston for the first time, I find myself gravitating toward this playlist more than I ever had. Each song wraps me in a blanket of comfort when I’m feeling homesick and allows me to reminisce on memories from my first few years of college.

What makes this playlist so quintessentially “fall” to me is that it harbors memories of every change in my life, which is what the season is for, right?

I hope you enjoy listening to this one on your next walk around the city! 🍁
