There’s always been a lot of controversy about music on Tik Tok. There’s people who will shame creators on the app for releasing subpar music just because they can, or who feel that Tik Tok has ruined popular songs with their sped-up or reverb versions. All valid, of course. However, the topic of debate I see most often is perpetrated by those who get frustrated when a song or artist they’ve been gatekeeping suddenly blows up and becomes a viral trend.

Funnily enough, I personally love this about the video hosting service. One cannot deny that Tik Tok does a great job of boosting banger tracks that have been around forever, and a great job introducing us to new artists with fresh sounds. There’s always such a variety in the kind of songs Tik Tok chooses to push using their algorithm, and I’m constantly finding music to add to my playlist.

In this collection, I’ve included a selection of songs I’ve heard recently on Tik Tok that I absolutely adore and can’t stop playing. You’ll find everything from vacation-infused afrobeats to sexy house music made to dance to, and I hope you enjoy listening!
