Playlist: Early Boston Mornings
A playlist by Roxie Jenkin.
Lifelessly dragging your feet out of your dorm room, you approach an elevator where other Emersonians wait for the fateful ride to an early morning class. The elevator is full of sleep-deprived students and at every stop, groans escape the mouths of those who just want to get their class over with so they can return to their bed.
As you walk out onto the street, the chill of the Boston morning air stings your skin. The sun still wears its cloud-shaped sleep mask, not yet awake, but for some reason you have to be. You begin your walk to your first class and can’t help but long for the feeling of lying comfortably in your duvet-covered bed.
Tired mornings are inevitable but they don’t have to be so dreadful. Embrace your slow-moving morning with this playlist. Let it be the soundtrack to your tired yet peaceful walk to class. Complete with the soothing sounds of slow jazz and rock n’ roll, this playlist will become the blanket for your mind. You will be engulfed in the soothing voice of Billie Holiday, warmed by the tactful trumpet of Miles Davis, comforted by Chet Baker's musical genius and many more.
