Devin Kirtz Returns With Quincy Feature On New Single "HENNESSY"

With a resume that includes songwriting credits for the likes of Zayn and Sam Hunt, Devin Kirtz is more than ready to put his own name in the spotlight. “HENNESSY”, Kirtz’s latest venture, boasts a feature with Diddy’s son Quincy. The pair recently released the music video for the track, a black and white homage to the clouding, sultry feelings of an alcohol-induced seduction. When asked if he found his inspiration through the liquor in question, Kirtz replied, “Yup! Drinking Hennessy.”
“One of my best friends/producer, Duck, produced the song and showed me the idea while we were with friends on vacation in Cabo,” Kirtz shared. “I was instantly obsessed with the idea, and I kept singing ‘Hennessy’ while writing to it, and to be honest the rest is history and the song pretty much wrote itself.”
Next, Kirtz enlisted the help of Quincy, who completed his verse in one day in Atlanta. They had met years prior at a Dash Radio event, with Kirtz initially writing for Quincy. He stated, “...he was just one of those people when I spoke to him, I knew he was my people.” Their partnership is reflected in the track, Kirtz’s smooth vocals blending into Quincy’s verse perfectly and adding another perspective. “Hollywood is just the race that I’m in”, he muses.
Often the most natural paths aren’t the most clear; Kirtz initially began a career as a professional soccer player, eventually leaving to pursue music. However, his accolades in sports brought him partnerships with Nike, among others. A good name in branding didn’t stop there- Kirtz’ single “MY DAY (ft. Marley Waters)” was heard on H&M, Hollister & co., and Nordstrom company playlists. The follow-up to his initial hit “MOVE”, accompanied a music video featuring his grandmother and gained traction on MTV, REVOLT, and VH1.
Amongst attempts to not “get lost in the noise”, Kirtz reports that quarantine has given him the opportunity to stay connected to his fans at an even greater volume. With touring plans uncertain for the foreseeable future, he is looking forward to the release of his single “Best Friends” on June 15th. “Look out for one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written!”
